How to Choose a Wig: Length, Texture and Bangs

The easiest way to choose a wig is to decide on four things: length, texture, fringe and cap style. Use this guide to narrow your options before browsing all KWWIG wigs.

1. Choose your length

Short and bob wigs

Short styles are compact and keep less hair around the shoulders. A bob gives a defined outline and works well when you want a quick, noticeable change.

Medium wigs

Medium lengths balance movement with easier handling. They are useful if you want more styling room without the maintenance of extra-long hair.

Long and extra-long wigs

Long styles create a stronger silhouette and offer more ways to arrange the hair. Longer synthetic fibers can tangle more easily, so detangle gently and store them on a wig stand.

2. Compare straight and wavy textures

Straight wigs create a smooth, clean finish. Wavy wigs add volume and movement. Finger-style waves first; use a wide-tooth comb only where needed.

3. Decide on bangs

Full bangs frame the forehead and can change the face shape quickly. Curtain bangs create a softer center opening. No-bangs styles keep the front open and may offer more parting flexibility, depending on the cap construction.

4. Consider lace construction

A lace-front option can provide a larger front styling area. KWWIG’s solid-color 13 × 4 lace wig includes a hand-tied front lace area, adjustable rear straps and built-in combs.
