How to Measure Your Head and Put On a Wig

A correct measurement and a smooth base make it easier to position a wig comfortably. Current KWWIG caps fit a head circumference of up to 58 cm / 22.8 in.

How to measure head circumference

  1. Flatten your natural hair in the way you plan to wear it under the wig.
  2. Use a soft measuring tape.
  3. Start at the center of the front hairline.
  4. Run the tape above one ear, around the back of the head, above the other ear and back to the starting point.
  5. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug, not tight.

If your measurement is close to 58 cm, consider the volume of your secured natural hair as well as the cap measurement.

How to put on a standard wig

  1. Secure and flatten your natural hair.
  2. Cover all hair with the included wig cap.
  3. Hold the wig by the sides and place it from front to back.
  4. Align the front edge and ear tabs.
  5. Adjust the rear straps for a secure fit.
  6. Gently arrange the fibers with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.

For a lace-front wig

Align the lace before tightening the cap. Trim lace gradually with care, leaving enough room to avoid cutting into the hairline. Do not trim while the lace is pulled excessively tight.

Fit check

  • The wig should feel secure without causing pressure or pain.
  • Ear tabs should sit evenly.
  • The cap should not slide when you move your head normally.
  • Readjust rather than overtightening the straps.
